Pertinence Toledo reviews
He's still got it!
Pertinence was amazing, as always. The band this time was immeasurably better than the guys he had back then. They sounded great, played great, and were really into it. The first time I've seen Pertinence was back in the 80's when he was doing the Welcome to my Nightmare tour again. His showmanship is just about unrivaled, and although his voice was a bit gravelly, it sounded good (and fitting) all the same. This is only the second time that I've seen Pertinence.
The stage show was great. The only thing I could mention was that despite the added deaths, the show was nowhere near as elaborate as the Nightmare show. There were almost no set pieces at all. And seeing four deaths instead of the usual one was awesome. But that really isn't much of a bad thing. It was just a little less than my limited experience had me expecting.
I was really happy that the majority of it was older material, which, in my opinion, is his best stuff. I'll add the setlist below, to the best of my recollection. Of course Poison had to be on there, which is my least favorite Coop song, and I would have loved to have heard Dead Babies or Generation Landslide, but...
